Painting and Decorating Contractors of America
The benefits of being an active member of PDCA and the Sun Coast Chapter have been extremely rewarding for my business, my customers, my employees, and me. If you are a licensed painting contractor I encourage you to bring your business to a new level of success. When you become a member of PDCA you are surrounding yourself with those in our business who care enough to show our clients and customers what can be acomplished with knowledge, ethics, and professionalism.

PDCA membership means to me "Professionalism" in a one word summation. Since joinig five years ago I have become actively involved with the association and moved from " A one man band living week to week" to " A business of Value". I now oversee the residential/light commercial painting business as an administrator with skilled employees, including an office manager. Internally we have developed written procedures for hiring practices, office procedures, and training programs for us all. We now have goals, from daily job goals and expectations, to a five year plan of growth. This all is due in large part of PDCA membership and opening the door of professional business info, networking, skills training for my company. The added has been our desire now in "Giving back to communities we work in"

Tips of the Week:
Ken Sisco writes,
Pace 2008 was the best show to date! From streamlined registration to the business and technical programs made available, to a well received gigantic tradeshow spanning 3 days! For less than what my monthly fuel and cell phone bills cost, I was able to partake of a plethora of business and tech. info., to help me in my residential painting business back here in Florida. In addition, I was able to take advantage of the opportunity to attend accredited classes to obtain required contractor college credits in order to now complete my PDCA contractor college accreditation.
For more information on contractor college click the PDCA logo, attend one of our sponsored events, or contact any of our chapter members
From Michael Murray:
There is no such thing as a standard work week! Most states define overtime for nonexempt workers as any hours worked over 40 hours per workweek, there are exceptions. An employees assertion that overtime is due for any work over 8 hours per day is incorrect. It always pays to check with your state laws
